This dataset contains information about monitoring cruises carried out by R/V “Vladimir Parshin” in 1996. Cruise number 20 performed in accordance with the following programs: "The Black sea protection and rational exploitation" (GEF), Scientific Research Prohram "Integrated monitoring and anual assessment of the Black and Azov seas modern state" (Ministry of environment protection of Ukraine).

Sampling Methods

Benthos, zoo- and phytoplancton samplings were carried out on 62 stations. The following equipment were used: "Jedy" net, "Ocean 0,25" grab, set of washing screens, phytoplancton filtration chamber, termostat, ion meter, Ag/AgCl electrode, platinum electrode.

Study Extent Black and Azov Sea

Method step description:

  1. According to the standard program of complex expeditionary researches of the Black sea by the UkrSCES research vessels and in accordance with the cruise task, the oceanographic observations in the Black Sea were carried out on ecological monitoring stations of the 1 and 2 categories, and on multiday stations.
